Dr. Harold Simon - In Memoriam

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Harold (Hal) Simon, who was one of the School of Medicine’s founding fathers. Dr. Simon died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday August 6, 2013.

  • Congratulations to Claudia Rafful, a 1st year PhD student in the Global Health track of the JDP in Public Health, who was awarded a scholarship from Mexico's Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Public Education.
  • Congratulations to Sophia Georghio, a 1st year Global Health JDP student for her award of the Inamori Fellowship.  This competitive award provides $5,000 for a 12 month period for degree-seeking graduate students.  Sophia is the third Global Health JDP to receive this award.
