Everardo F. Aguilar
Everardo F. Aguilar, JD,
joined Dr. Richard Garfein’s STAHR study staff on June 1, 2012. He was originally hired by UCSD in 2004 and worked for Community Pediatrics at the UCSD Immunization Partnership and was outstationed at the County of San Diego's Immunization Branch for more than six years as a Health Promotion Specialist. In 2010, he was promoted to be the Community Outreach Manager with the National Children's Study (NCS) with Dr. Christina Chambers as principal investigator. After completing the pilot study in the fall of 2011, NCS reduced its staff and Everardo was temporarily laid off until he was re-hired by STAHR. Everardo has more than 20 years in the health promotion/prevention education field mainly as an outreach worker and HIV prevention educator. He has worked with several agencies in San Diego County including Family Health Centers of San Diego, Inc., AIDS Foundation San DIego, Scripps Healthcare and Comprehensive Health Center. A native of Los Angeles, Everardo moved to San Diego to attend California Western School of Law in 1986 where he received his J.D. in 1989. Everardo received a double B.A. in History and Spanish from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1984. Everardo is a youth advisor at his church, he volunteers as an usher at the Old Globe Theater and he also volunteers with Mama's Pantry's food drives.
