Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health Outcomes of Public Health Systems Interventions in Uttar Pradesh, India

Uttar Pradesh (UP) maintains a disproportionate burden of mortality attributable to reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health as well as adolescent health (RMNCH+A) concerns in India. The Gates Foundation has partnered with the Ministry of Health in UP to build capacities and functioning in public RMNCH+A programming. Sambodhi Research and its consortium is leading the evaluation and survey research for these efforts.

GEH is working in collaboration with Sambodhi Research and its consortium in the development of scientific work (e.g., presentations and publications) based on the operational research conducted, measures development for future surveys based on findings from the generated science and academic literature, and interpretation of generated science for rapid translation into recommendations for the RMNCH+A research and programming in UP. GEH contributes unique expertise in the area of gender equity and its intersectionality with other social economic equity issues to this effort. The focus of the science considered and produced includes a focus on violence and abuse, adolescence and child marriage, and access to maternal and infant health services.
