Carlos F. Vera, BA
obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Physiotherapy at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina in 1998. After graduating, he was a staff member at different hospitals in Argentina until 2001. In 2002 he began working for San Diego State University’s Research Foundation as a Research Assistant under the direction of Dr. Melbourne Hovell. In 2009, Carlos transitioned into a new position as a Research Medical Assistant under the direction of Dr. Gregory Talavera in the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos. As of 2009, Carlos began working for the University of California San Diego under the direction of Steffanie Strathdee as the coordinator of the Parashoot Study. Later, Carlos worked as a counselor and HIV tester at the AVRC under the direction of Dr. Little. Currently, Carlos is a Staff Research Associate in Global Public Health Division under the direction of Dr. Richard Garfein.
